A shopping festival exclusively for international visitors, Korea Grand Sale, is expected to take
place from January 18, 2018 to February 28, 2018. Korea Grand Sale takes place every winter in effort to promote Korea tourism as well as shopping in Korea.
With less than 100 days left until the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games, Korea Grand Sale is expected to create a festive winter atmosphere, preparing visitors and Korea for the upcoming excitement. This year’s theme is “Special Winter Festival,” focusing on promoting Korea’s significant cultural tourism contents in correlation to the winter Olympics. A variety of entertainment will take place during the event period as well, based on topics such as “Winter sports,” “Night life,” “K culture,” and “K food.” In addition, international visitors will be able to receive privileges related to Korea’s winter and cultural attractions, including ski resorts, ice skating rinks, indoor snow park winter sports experience, jjimjilbang, performances, etc.
International visitors will be able to benefit from convenient services as well. One of the services include the Tourist Travel Center that will be visiting major tourist attractions and regional festivals near Olympic venues within Gangwon-do, providing convenient services such as language interpretation. Korea Tour Card, a transportation card exclusively for foreigners, will also be actively promoted and the Hands-Free service will be offering a discount of 50% off on baggage storage and delivery.
